Its 2009. And i have a blog! I was thinking of just leaving it like that, playing it cool and not saying too much on my first entry but, i think i might as well explain to you what led to me sitting down here on the end of Annabel's bed writing these words of very little wisdom.
For the last 15 years or so, i have made resolutions and have never ever ever ever kept them. A popular resolution that i attempted to keep was to give up Chocolate. I failed. And when i said i failed, i failed big time a second after i had said: "This year my new years resolution is to give up chocolate." i was offered a delicious succulent chocolate eclair. I ate it, I felt so ashamed. Please don't judge me.
To this day I don't understand why i would have attempted to give up Chocolate as Chocolate is something i adore, a passion shared by another fellow Phil, Phil Landers who i go to uni with. Talking of chocolate Annabel has just given me some more Thorntons. Life is good! Today i have already eaten one whole pack of chocolate raisins. I could probably just dedicate this blog to Chocolate but i think its time to move on... i think i might have a problem.
Back to the failed resolutions and the reason for this blog.
New Years Resolutions why do we bother? My sisters always used to say as theirs, "This year we are going to keep fit". And if you saw them today you know they failed. My friend at uni who i wont name famously said "this year I'm not going to leave my work to the last minuet". Guess what he failed to. I think New Years Resolutions are almost impossible to keep unless you actually want to do it and this year i really want to have a go at this. So here it goes, my New Years Resolution of 2009 is to try something new. Well its actually 52 new things possibly one for every week. And i can already tick one of i have started a blog, thats new!
There are rules, most of which are in accordance with common sense:
1. It must be completely new not something i have done slightly before, it has to be new or it doesn't count.
2. New things can be completed at any time of day or night.
3. It would make sense to do a new thing a week but due to work or uni commitments that might not be possible.
4. All new things must be completed by the 31st of December 2009.
5. I cant think of any more rules right now.
So those are the rules and here are the new things:
